KIRSI TALO KOHVITARÕ

Our farm café menu is inspired by recipes from the grandmother of the mistress of the farm.

Kirsi talo on the outskirts of Meremäe Village welcomes young and old to Pop-up Café Day.

Our farm café menu is inspired by recipes from the grandmother of the mistress of the farm. Thus, this is a place to sample time-honoured mainstays of Seto cuisine: barley groats, a two-handed sandwich made from meat smoked on Kirsi Farm, sõir cheese that melts in your mouth (awarded the popular favourite title at the Seto Kingdom festival in 2017), curd cake with berries, and many other tasty items, from both the sweet and savoury departments. The selection does not lack for cooling beverages, coffee and herbal tea.

Those whose stomachs are full can take home Kirsi talo sõir cheese and artisanal cookies and Ostrova Mari products.

The hosts will tell the story of how Kirsi talo was restored and some great local accordion players will handle the musical part of the festivities.

Children will have an opportunity to try on Seto folk costume, play disc golf, volleyball or fieldstone hopscotch. The smallest children have a small play corner, sandbox and swings.

We want to leave Pop-up Café patrons with some pleasant emotions, the joy of discovery and a sense of the charm and beauty of Setomaa’s traditions.

If desired, visitors can also enjoy the pleasures of the Kirsi talo smoke sauna.
