Our farm café has been open for the Pop-up Café Day for several years now. In the early spring, we wondered what sorts of seeds to plant to be able to serve the finest dishes from home-grown garden produce. Now all will be revealed. Come have a look at our world, for all of Kriisa Farm’s doors will be open on Pop-up Café Day, even the farmhouse and kitchen.

There’s plenty to see... A new Seto stove was completed early this year; and that made oven-roasted foods a natural addition to this year’s menu. Thick savoury porridge is a hit here – we eat it year-round at both work bees and celebrations. Rye bread, vatsk (barley soda bread) and other dishes, both makõt (sweet) and soolast (savoury), will be prepared for our visitors just as our grandmothers did. A couple standouts from modern cuisine are in the mix, too.
Besides home-grown foodstuffs, our farm is notable for its architecture. We have restored the storehouse, clay building and smoke sauna using old work techniques. Our entire Pop-up Café Day team wears Seto-themed clothing, and if we have the time and energy we will dance, play music and sing leelo with our visitors.

A shop will operate in the storehouse, where different farm products can be purchased. The “Potpourri Corner” has a selection of interesting second-hand goods that have been given new life. Step into the farmhouse itself to see the hostess’s interest in handicrafts and old Seto clothing. Visitors can learn weaving at a workshop, helping to produce a rug. There will be a children’s café – established and operated by children! – and a play corner.
