The Rikka Ivvani café, located in the Rikka Ivvani farm (Rich Ivan’s farm) in the village of Küllätüvä, serves tasty home-made local food. As the family raises sheep, there are sure to be some lamb dishes on the menu. The chickens provide eggs for cakes and other dishes. As one of the farmers in the village cultivates organic buckwheat, there are also tasty raw buckwheat dishes – be sure to try some! The farm is in constant change and there is something new also for those guests who have visited the farm in previous years. There are sheep, chickens and cats that create the special rural feeling in the 145-year-old farmstead. In 1905, Rich Ivan founded a village shop in the farm, and today you can also purchase local foods and goods from the little shop.
The exact menu will be decided and revealed right before pop-up cafe days on the Facebook page of the farm (Rikas Ivvan). Make sure to keep your eye on the page, as some good ideas pop up right before the big day. If you happen to be a musician, make sure to bring your own instrument and play for everyone.
We open on Saturday at 11 a.m. with coffee and cake, warm dishes will be served beginning at 1 p.m.
There are also lots of other activities on the agenda:
There is a fee of 5 EUR for the pottery workshop if you want your products to be finished later in the pottery house, and 3 EUR if you just want to try it out. For the walk, you can make a donation in to Merca’s donation box.
There is plenty of room in the farmyard to run around or just lay back. There is a ping-pong table, darts and badminton rackets in the farm. In the adjacent valley there is a chance to play volleyball and take a refreshing bath in the pond, and later, gather for a hearty meal in the café.
