Rikka Ivvani man

Although the spring was like no other, this summer will see a return to familiar form – our café in Küllätüvä Village will be open, the aroma of ripening fruits and approaching autumn, will be palpable, even though the air is still warm and moods are carefree like summer. In this small and attractive Setomaa village by the border, diligent country folk go about their activities, and as in years past, raw buckwheat is the local point of pride.

Come and taste what we’ve thought up this time and see what has changed over the last year. As usual for us, the ingredients will come largely from our own farm and village. No doubt some lambs will be slaughtered a bit early and the village’s chickens will time their peak in the first few weeks of August.
On Pop-up Café Day we’ll gather on the 143-year-old Rikka Ivvani farm. The farm shop founded by Ivvan in 1905 carries wares from the village and surroundings. The farm has chicken, sheep and cats. As Pop-up Café Day approaches, we might come up with some other ideas for surprising you, so let’s be friends and check out our ads on the Pop-up Café Day FB page. If you play an instrument, take it with you – there will be an open stage.

We will start our Saturday at 11am with coffee and cake, and at 12 noon the family of the farm will tell the story of how the farm was restored. We’ll be serving hot food from 13:00 on.
