Our café is run by an idyllic couple – the mistress of the farm is a free spirit who gravitates to the forest, while the young master of the farm, who has Seto roots, grew up in the area. The young master swears that his home pond is the best to float a raft on. Once, back in his childhood, a homemade raft plunged all of the rafters into cold water, but modern know-how has now produced a more pond-worthy raft that won’t capsize. So the decision rests in the hands of the visitors: if they want to re-enact youthful hijinks, they can sink the raft, although, it being August, the water will be quite warm.
For Pop-up Café Day, our café will have a pit barbecue and place a large cauldron of soup on the fire. Pork and lamb will be roasted by the whole leg. Nothing too dainty, visitors can eat the pulled meat outside, so that the drippings run off their elbows. Dessert is also homemade, but they’ll send the guests into the woods to hunt for additional berries as a topping. If anyone’s mouth started watering while reading this, they should make tracks for our café. And those in the know will find even more hard-core experiences under the counter.
