Pskov-Caves Monastery

From a small group of cave-dwelling monks in the 15th century has developed the spiritual hub of Petserimaa and many visit here from faraway. On 28 August, the monastery's holy day, the city is full of people and there is plenty to see: the yard of the monastery is decorated with a trail of flowers that lead from the gate to the church: this is called the Road of the Blood, and after the service, there is a procession around the church. In 2008, the Pskov-Caves Monastery were voted to be one of the seven wonders of Russia, because praying has not stopped at the monastery once in the past 600 years
