Värska promenade

Allika 15, Värska, Setomaa vald, 64001

In 2020, a lovely promenade with two viewing platforms was built along the coast of Värska Bay. The different sections of the 300-meter promenade are united by the use timber and granite, the two main construction materials. The springs have been directed into beautiful natural waterways. The nice promenade with evening lights adds a lot to Värska as an attractive living environment.

The Värska Bay is a picturesque fjord-like bay, protected as the Värska Bay Natura area. In the middle of the bay there is a deep former riverbed. A very long time ago the bay used to be a valley, with a river in the bottom. The flood that followed the last Ice Age filled the whole valley with water, forming a bay.

The bay is perfect for short cruises and all forms of water sports, especially as there is a new port (constructed in 2020) at the other end of the promenade. The local Seto Line cruise ship also makes a stop at the port. While sailing on the bay, keep in mind that it is a border area and follow the respective restrictions.
