Niitsiku kõrts, Niitsiku küla, Setomaa vald

Open on Saturday and Sunday

MENU HITS:

  • Niitsiku pig (likely refers to a pork dish from Niitsiku, possibly a local specialty)
  • Egg cake
  • Grandma’s cutlets (typically refers to traditional minced meat patties)

We are open for two days during Kostipäev. In the old tavern, enjoy authentic homemade food, tea, coffee, homemade cakes and cookies, and savory snacks. Our dishes are made using local ingredients, with meat dishes cooked over a wood stove, made with love.

You can also buy local handmade crafts, including rag rugs, knitted items, pottery, and more. We offer nostalgic dishes for those who enjoy a bit of history. Niitsiku is a very old village, first mentioned in 1601, and a memorial stone marks the 420th anniversary of its mention. The nearby old tavern dates back to 1819, and the village once had a thriving sawmill.

Niitsiku is a peaceful place where you can enjoy quiet and history. Visit our old tavern and new outdoor house!
