Before the promenade, Allika Street led to several springs that fed into the lake—Aurora's captain's house, the old post office, and a few hidden farms. In the heart of Värska, this once forgotten plot of land now tells a different story. It had been abandoned until the land was cleared, a home built, and life returned to the lakeshore. Almost simultaneously, the harbor and promenade area were renovated, making the lakeside a popular spot for everyone.
As you walk from the harbor to the church spring, you'll pass a lakeside home guarded by Marta, our fluffy watch dog. This Kostipäev, we open our yard and doors to all passersby and visitors. We offer food, drinks, great company, and a flower-filled yard where you can relax. Everyone will find something to enjoy, whether you're a meat lover, vegetarian, soup fan, or dessert enthusiast.
Our menu features tomatoes from the hostess’s greenhouse, fresh garden produce, and carefully crafted homemade kvass from the host’s cellar.
